PDF bank statement to Excel, for UK statements

Upload a PDF bank statement and download an Excel (.xlsx) file with date, description, amount and balance for each transaction. No signup. The first statement is free.

How it works

  1. Drop in the PDF. It must be a real PDF with posted transaction rows, not a photo.
  2. We extract every transaction and check the result: the running balance is tested row by row, and the total is compared to the statement's opening and closing balances.
  3. Download plain CSV, an Excel (.xlsx) file, or a CSV laid out for Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent.

Example output (synthetic data, for illustration):

date,description,amount,balance
2026-01-03,Coffee shop,-3.20,996.80
2026-01-04,Salary,1500.00,2496.80
2026-01-06,Water bill,-28.00,2468.80

What is checked

You see the result of each check on screen. If the numbers do not reconcile, or a row breaks the balance chain, we tell you which rows to look at instead of hiding it.

Open it in Excel

Choose the Excel download and open the file directly. Dates are written as YYYY-MM-DD (the Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent layouts use DD/MM/YYYY) and amounts and balances are stored as numbers. We have checked the file structure but not opened it in every Excel version, so look over the first rows before relying on it. A plain CSV is also available if you prefer.

Importing into Xero

In Xero, open your bank account, choose Import a Statement, and upload the Xero CSV from the app. The columns follow Xero's documented template (date, amount, payee, description, reference). We have not yet tested a live import in every Xero setup, so try a small file first and check the rows before you reconcile.

Privacy

No account. The PDF is processed in memory and not stored by us. See the privacy policy.

Price

One statement free. After that, 5 statements for 9 pounds, no subscription, no expiry. If a conversion fails and we cannot fix it, we refund it.
